perhaps my greatest fantasy team of all time

UPDATE: after the opening episode, The Velociraptors lead The Mighty Cucamongas 45-36 with Tonya (42 pts) and Wes (35 pts) contributing the most points. Next week, we will be adding two more fantasy categories... who gets the clue on the T-Mobile Sidekick (+5 points) and who gives an unnecessary explanation of a game rule (-5 points). Should be a good season.

as i mentioned in today's first post, a little thing called the Real World/Road Rules Challenge debuts tonight with a 90 minute episode. yes, 90 minutes of pure MTV awesome-ness. i have to wait until tomorrow to see it but i'm sure when i see it, i am going to wet myself.

well, i am not the only person to be excited about The Ruins. in fact, Bill Simmons of ESPN spent about 50 of the 60 minutes of his podcast talking about the Challenge. Simmons even came up with an excellent idea and hosted a Challenge fantasy draft with two of his friends.

this was an excellent idea... so i decided to copy it. yes folks, my and Robyn had a fantasy draft this afternoon for the Ruins.

first off, here is our point system:

• Makeout: 1 point
• Sex: 5 points
• Tossed in the swimming pool with clothes on: 5 points
• Leave in a new relationship: 5 points (5 point bonus is still together at the reunion)
• Same sex hook-up: 10 points
• Verbal fight: 10 points
• Win a good prize: 10 points
  
• Get a “You Killed It” from TJ Lavin: 10 points
• Won challenge/non-kickoff challenge: 15 points
• Threeway: 20 points
• Win a gauntlet/kickoff challenge: 25 points
• Win the entire challenge: 100 points
• Public drunkenness: -1 point
• Crying: -5 points
• Injury: -5 points
• Physical fight: -10 points
• Regretted Hook-up: -10 points
• Lose a gauntlet/kickoff challenge: -10 points
• Winning a prize that you will never use: -10 points
  
• Non-injury non-finish to a non-kickoff challenge: -15 points
• Physically unable to finish a non-kickoff challenge: -15 points
• Saying you/someone else needs the money badly: -20 points
• First boy/girl kicked off: -20 points
• Quitting the challenge: -50 points
  

So we had our fantasy draft. We first went through the guys and then drafted the girls. Robyn had the first pick among the ladies while I had the first pick among the men.

i named my team "The Velociraptors" although "The Denzel Washingtons" was debated in my mind. Robyn went with the team name: "The Mighty Cucamongas". personally, i think i have the better guys but Robyn, by far, has the better girls because, well, she has the only athletic girl on the show... so i am hoping my ladies give me some drama and sex points.
